J-4118 @ LSME - During 1989 we made our first trip into Switzerland. We saw lots of aircraft that were hardly seen in Europe. The Hunters were among these.

J-4119 @ LSME - Unit badges used to be quite rare in the Swiss AF. This Hunter has the Fl St 2 badge on the nose. This Hunter was scrapped a year later.

J-4109 @ LSMM - In 1994 we were allowed to take pictures from the base side of the airfield. The net barrier can be seenin the background.

J-4204 @ LSME - The Swiss Hunter trainers were used as ECM aircraft. The additional chaff/flare dispenser can be seen on the outer pylon.

J-4150 @ LSME - The Hunter F58A was a secondhand series of Hunter acquired by the Swiss AF. Most F58A's were scrapped in the early nineties.

J-4087 @ LSMI - In 1994 the very last exercise was held at Interlaken. In the background is the Hunter flightline where all participating aircraft were parked. J-4087 is still flying as HB-RVU.

J-4087 @ LSMP - During the early nineties the Swiss skies were black with Hunters. It was not uncommon to see more than ten flying a day. This came to a sudden halt when the Hunter was withdrawn in 1994.

J-4138 @ LSMJ - This red paint lasted just one day. Hours after the disbanding ceremony of Fliegerstaffel 2 the paint was removed again. J-4138 was wfu September 1993 and scrapped.

J-4050 @ LSMJ - Turtmann was situated in the heart of the Alps. After take off the aircraft had to make a steep climb out of the Rhone valley. This Hunter carries two large bombs underneath the wings, making the aircraft even less manouvrable.
